We work closely with our customers in order to carefully define process requirements and to then design a cost effective machine to meet those requirements. We have designed several standard machine platforms which can be easily modified to solve many applications cost effectively. An area we have enjoyed considerable success in is adaptive processes where we modify the machine tool path based on an external real time measurement.
Toolmen has extensive experience with Milling, Drilling, Turning, Laser Systems, Welding, Grinding, Electron Beam, and Waterjet. The following products show just a few of the many examples of electromechanical platfroms to which these processes can be integrated.

The Toolmen gantry platform is constructed of rigid, welded steel tubing and can be configured to almost any height, width, length. In addition to the single table design we have built machines with twin tables, mulitple spindles, and multiple processes. Our gantry platform can be configured for milling, drilling, routing, waterjet cutting, laser cutting, laser cladding, plasma cutting, ultrasonic cutting, welding and combinations of the above. Shown 20'x50'x4' twin five axis router saw composite router as installed at Northrup Grumman in Gulfport, MS.

The Toolmen lathe design is contructed of rigid steel weldment and is available in virtually unlimited lengths. Our designs can incorporate functions such as standard lathe, lathe/milling, tube forming and welding, tube cutting with laser or waterjet, and various winding functions. The machine shown utlizes patent pending laser guaging for material measurement and product quality checking. Shown two machines in production in our shop.

Toolmen multispindle milling and drilling machines provide the ultimate in cost effective processing of large parts. Virtually any combination of spindle size and part length can be accomodated. Based on our lathe design turn milling is provided across multiple spindle heads. Shown is original solid model for four machines now installed in Schlumberger facilities world wide.

The Toolmen inverted milling machine was designed for a customer who wanted to machine the underside of a product as it was being transported overhead on a conveyor. The design can be scaled up or down and can be configured for a wide variety of processes such as milling, drilling, routing, laser cutting, waterjet cutting, and welding. Shown machine as installed at Amerities, Bend OR

MultiFab is being developed in conjunction with SMU's Research Center for Advanced Manufacturing. MultiFab incorporates a variety of deposition processes, laser, plasma, welding, and eBeam and integrates them with the machining processes of milling, drilling, grinding, and lathe functions. MultiFab enables Net Shape parts to be fabricated with unique interior geometries, and unique material compositions. The Prototype machine is fully functional and producing parts. Toolmen Advanced CNC Laser Welding or Cutting Machines are configured for specific appliactions and designed for maximum beam on time. These machines typically make use of multiple servos for fixturing, loadind/unloading and part presentation. Shown is Toolmen's Five Axis Motion Platform with Hollow, Direct Drive Servo A and B axis. The enables high accuracy with laser fiber passed through the center of rotation.

Toolmen brings our advanced servo control technology to Pultrusion lines. Eliminate transfer bump and inconsistent pull forces with our high performance hydraulic control system. Our flying cutoff module integrates smooth precise cutoffs to your line. We can retrofit your existing line or build a new line to your specifications.

Toolmen Fiber Winding Machines can be made in any length and height. Advanced high precision rack and pinion drives enable fast and accurate fiber placement. Standard control templates allow fast and effective wind pattern creation.

Toolmen introduces a new line of direct drive rotary tables featuring large through holes and arc second accuracy. Utilizing Siemens or Yaskawa direct drive rotary motors coupled with high resolution Heidenhain rotary encoders our tables are customized for the most demanding applications.
