Toolmen is an electromechanical engineering company that builds Specific Purpose Machine Tools.  These are CNC machines that are optimized for a specific task or group of tasks and then simplified for cost. We utilize standard platforms which are used as a building block for our Machine Tool solutions.  In this way, we build machines for significantly less money with better productivity than a general purpose machine tool.  Toolmen has significant experience with milling, drilling, routing, waterjet, laser, ultrasonic, plasma, welding and multiprocess combinations of the above.  We are also presenting adaptive solutions which feature real time motion path adjustment based on input from external sensors such as vision or laser.

Toolmen utilizes our extensive experience with Computer Integrated Mechanics to provide optimized automation packages and machinery in a similar way to our machine tool solutions.  We work with our customers to optimize or develop and optimize machine control solutions and processes that meet our customers goals.   Our experience includes many types of packaging machines, converting machines, robotics, material handling systems, and semiconductor machines.  We also feature adaptive solutions in which we can modify in real time the motion path utilzing input from external sensors such as vision or laser.

Toolmen EMA designs and builds electromechanical assemblies for high temperature, low temperature, vacuum, submersible, and normal applications.  These assemblies can inlcude specialty motors, actuators, gearing, hydraulic, pneumatic, and modifications to existing designs.  We offer electrical packages including panel builds and custom operator interfaces.

Toolmen manufacturers client subassemblies and machines utilizing our engineering team's ability to optimize and value engineer and our manufacturing team's ability to globally source and provide on time, quality manufacturing at specified price targets.

Working with our partner TECO Westinghouse, we are actively engaged in providing advanced control systems and components within our core competency for wind turbine applications.  Our Opti-Wind 900 platform enables precision control of all aspects of turbine as well as the positioning of the blade and presentation to the wind.  This is all done while collecting all of the critical performance data required by the field operator.

Toolmen is pleased to be able to offer the talents of several individuals with extensive backgrounds with Giddings & Lewis.  Our service team averages over 30 years of experience with the entire G&L product line, Giddings & Lewis, Fraser, Kearney & Trecker, K&T, Warner & Swasey.  We provide regular repair service, rebuild, retrofit, remanufacture, and modifications to G&L and all other makes of machine tools and other automation machinery.
